MORNING MOBILITY MOVEMENT

Who is this for: Anyone  

 

Ever wake up in the morning and find those smaller forgotten neglected areas of the body are clicking and creaking?

 

Mobility movement can improve the range of motion of our joints and muscles. It can assist in improving our posture and can alleviate 'everyday' aches and pains and well as improve our body, making moving more comfortable, flexible and easier.

 

At the same time we will also focus on awakening the breath to help energise the body and leave you feel uplifted and ready for your day ahead.

LUNCHTIME MOBILITY 

Who is this for: Anyone

 

Hitting that lunchtime slump, while your body cries out to you that it needs some movement and to be awakened? This practise is about helping you connect to the possibilities of your body and it's range of movement.

Helping protect, strengthen and build more flexibility safely and consciously.

 

Mobility movement can improve the range of motion of our joints and muscles. It can assist in improving our posture and can alleviate 'everyday' aches and pains and well as improve our body, making moving more comfortable, flexible and easier.

 

A fun and educational practice that will be sure to leave you feeling more aware of your body, stable and confident in every step you take.

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT (this class isn't available currently on our new schedule)

Who is this for: Anyone  

 

We are all about safe movement and one of the best ways to ensure you are protecting, strengthening, stabilising your joints is through Functional movement. 

 

Functional movement takes your joints through their full range of motion and engages the stabilizing muscles. This is important in preventing injury and bringing efficient and healthy movement back to the body. The seven general movement patterns of the body are squat, lunge, push, pull, hinge, twist, and walk.

 

Continue with a regular functional movement practise and you'll be skip, hopping and back-flipping before you know it.

FULL BODY ENGAGEMENT FLOW (this class isn't available currently on our new schedule)

Who is this for: Anyone 

 

Who is this for: Suggested a minimum of 6 months regular movement practice.

 

Ever felt like you want to be the best version of yourself? Well if so then all you need is that incredible instrument they call the body. 

 

This practise will delve into strength, intelligence and capabilities of the body. Focusing on understanding full body engagement, through dynamic and creative mixed movement, helping open the mind to how we approach our bodies and how we use them to their advantage.

 

A strong body = a strong mind.

SHAKE WAKE + BREATH (this class isn't available currently on our new schedule)

Who is this for: Anyone 

 

This is not a yoga class.

Shaking is the natural way to release tension and return the body to its normal homeostasis.

It is a primal impulse to a stressful situation. Animals naturally shake to release tension after a life-threatening event.

Shaking has also been proven to release muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. 

Moreover, when this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.

We will also explore different breathing techniques to help eliminate anxiety and stress, helping to shift energy around the body and leaving you feeling more balanced, grounded and open for your day ahead.

WILD THING (this class isn't available currently on our new schedule)

Who is this for: Anyone 

 

Who is this for: Anyone with an open mind and wanting to explore movement freely.

Created and taught by owner Lisa Shaw, this journey through movement offers grace in expression, an awakening to the unconscious, and teaches us to feel our way rather than see our way, with an invitation to close the eyes as often as possible, tapping into the body on a deeper level. 

Lisa's background in dance shines through as she leads you on understanding consistency of movement but most importantly the art of playing and enjoying movement. 

Supporting and encouraging you to explore movement on and off the mat, high and low, left and right and all the space in between, while stimulating the sense of sound with one of Lisa's other loves music! 

Flowing through releasing the wild within you. Wilder the better!
