DETOXIFYING YING YANG

Who is this for: Anyone 

 

Feeling sluggish and still carrying the weight and tension from the week passed? When we carry these negative energies they cause blockages in our bodies and begin to store toxins. 

 

Through this detoxing practise we will begin the process through twisted postures. By performing yoga twists for digestion, backbends and forward folds, we are able to massage and put pressure on our organs, which helps release the build up of toxins. Let's get back to the squeeze and soak theory by B.K.S. This encourages movement in our bowels, which then helps release toxins from our body, activating the detoxification process to make your weekend more comfortable, relaxed and stress free. 

 

Yin is more internal, passive, cooling and downward. While Yang is more external, dynamic, warming and upward. When these terms are applied to yoga, Yin Yoga is a slower practice where poses are passively held for longer, working on the deep, dense (Yin) connective tissues and joints in the body.
